Treating oneself is all well and good, and at KLOK we thank you for your support. In addition to providing a quality, fashionable product, we also believe that it is our social responsibility to give back to society. There are too many that are born with too little, and we believe that accessibility to a quality education is the first step for people to ensure a better life for themselves.

That is why KLOK is donating EUR 3,- for every watch sold in Europe, and R 40,- for every watch sold in Africa, to Education Africa.

One of their projects is the Early Childhood Development (ECD) project. It is a reality that in many disadvantaged areas, caregivers who are looking after pre-school children have limited education and no formal training. As a consequence, the development of the young children in their care is such that they are not ready to enter the formal schooling system at the age of 6, and also face learning difficulties at a later stage. That’s why Education Africa runs a 3-year whole school training project targeted specifically at ECD caregivers and teachers. As part of their program, Education Africa arranges workshops, provides education and mentorship to ensure that the children can have access to an effective and  sustainable learning environment.

Caregivers receive certificates and accreditation upon successfully having completed the training program, and the children thrive in an environment where the early building blocks to successful learning have been put in place for them. It’s a win-win situation for all, and through your purchase of a KLOK watch, you can rest assured in the knowledge that you will have made a small but meaningful contribution to this worthwhile project.
